Today was a good day because I’ve discovered an ingenious way to distract two-year-old— cellular telephones. Yup. Apparently the buttons are absolutely amazing. So that’s a good thing!
I also took my first afternoon nap in the longest time. It was glorious!
3 weeks until France!
Today was a good day because my grandma continues to do well— she had a second dangle-date, which are always good fun :)
My cousin, my sister, and I also had some fun with puzzles! The only problem is, the two puzzles that we picked out were both missing a single piece each… hmmm… conundrum. After that, we got in the car and went home! We were only gone for a day, but it’s still really nice to know that I get a bed to myself tonight.
22 more days until France!
Today was such a good day! I improved my statistics grade (though it’s still not terribly awesome), I got my Euros for France, and I saw my grandma in the hospital— even though she’s in for having difficulty breathing and also for pneumonia, it’s like she hasn’t changed. She’s just a little bruised and tired, that’s all.
Today was a good day because I got to change my calendar! Now I have a recipe for Lemon cream cupcakes (I still have to make red velvet cupcakes from last month…). I have an amazing calendar ^_^
Today, I retook my Statistics test because I got 101/200 points on it. I don’t think I got an A on it, but I think that I improved, so that’s a good thing.
And, as usual…
24 more days until France! Eventually, I will throw in Washington D.C. as soon as I remember the date that I leave.
Today was a good day because I got to snuggle in Literature and Film class. It was amazing, mostly because it doesn’t happen very often. I guess that makes it a little more special.
Today, I got to babysit my favorite kid in the universe! We spent time eating Chinese food, pointing out the turtles around the house, and turning lights on and off. Yeah, it doesn’t take much to entertain us :)
25 more days until France!
Honestly, I don’t know how this day could be much worse. It’s going to be harder to pick out good things. I felt stupid and belittled most of the day and then when I got home, I found out that my great-grandma is in the hospital. She was having trouble breathing, so an ambulance was called for her. When she got to the hospital closest to her, she had to be transferred an hour-and-a-half away to a different hospital that could provide better care for her should something really bad happen. So both my great-grandma and my grandma went to the hospitals nearest them and both of them have pneumonia. Pleasant. My grandma didn’t have to stay long. She was diagnosed, she got meds, she went home, but my great-grandma has to stay in the hospital for a while because they need to check and make sure that there wasn’t any damage done to the heart. It’s really hard seeing my mom and hearing the conversations about the decisions and discussions that had to be made regarding my great-grandmother. If something happened over night, the doctors were supposed to resuscitate her, but the problem is, she’s 95 lbs and super fragile for a human being. They’d end up breaking ribs and hurting her in ways that she wouldn’t be able to recover from. So it’s really scary to sit in my living room and not be able to do anything both because I’m so far away and because I have no knowledge of medicine stronger than Alkaseltzer Plus.
So I guess the positives today are that it’s half-way through the week for me because I don’t have school on Friday and my great-grandma is stable for now. I don’t know what’s going to come next.
On a different note, there is actually 26 until France (why can’t I count?).
Sorry for the long rant…
Today was a good day because we started learning about Hitler’s childhood and why he grew up to be what he grew up to be. There was a little bit of information on Stalin too, but my Holocaust teacher fast-forwarded over those parts because we’re not concerning ourselves with Stalin too much. The unfortunate thing is he’s such an interesting dude. Both of these two dictators are interesting, psychologically. What they did is, of course, a terrible, horrible thing that never should have happened.
Today was a good day because after an exhausting morning of babysitting a very busy two-year-old, I came home, watched some of Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and then my boyfriend came over for the first time in months! Robotics has taken up a lot of his time which means that we’ve been unable to hang out at all for quite some time. So when he came over, we listened to music and then watched The Shawshank Redemption and Best in Show. There was yummy jambalaya for dinner too ^_^
Today is also a good day because my best friend from kindergarten joined the adult world today!
29 more days until France!
Today was an awesome day because I got to hang out with my friend Ezra, whom I hardly get to see any more because we go to different schools and have busy schedules of our own. We talked about books, 80s movies, our grandparents, made baby banana bread loaves, and watched Tangled! I’ve officially found my Disney boyfriend— Eugene “Hotguy” Fitzherbert <3
30 more days until France!
Today was a good day because after school and after my dad got home from work, we went to my sister’s friend’s house, picked up my sister, and then went to get delicious Chinese food! I’m 90% positive that it’s not authentic, but this is America where very few things are actually authentic. It was still good though. Afterwards, my dad and I watched Star Wars Episode II: The Clone Wars and it was still a decent movie after having seen it two or three times now.
